Visit the Chateau

Mansart's revolutionary cantilevered staircase was an engineering marvel of the period.  The Salon Louis XIII is decorated with oak panelling and filled with paintings by Albert de Balleroy.

The dining room has an oak parquet floor "à la Versailles" and Regency panelling recovered from a Paris town house. To the left of the table hangs Louis-Michel Van Loo's (1707-1771) portrait of Jacques-Claude Augustin de la Cour, Marquis de Balleroy.

Furnishings in the Queen Victoria's suite are in the style of Louis XVI.

The English style library, installed in the 1850's, houses more than 1600 books.  Royal portraits by Charles de la Fosse, Juste d'Egmont, and Claude Vignon hang in the Salon d'Honneur. These portraits formerly hung in the Luxembourg Palace.
